About

Lenovo’s Kind City is the biggest crowdsourced public ‘census’ to imagine and co-author a blueprint for a city of the future built on kindness. The initiative involved world-renowned thought leaders, including British-American fashion designer and philanthropist Tan France, 2020 TIME Kid of the Year Gitanjali Rao, and the late UK robotics scientist Dr. Peter Scott–Morgan.

To bring its vision of the Kind City to life and empower community-led innovation, Lenovo partnered with Ashoka, the global network of social entrepreneurs. Ashoka inspires and enables community innovators, called changemakers, to drive positive social change and shape a brighter future—sometimes through transformative technology used for the good of all.

This collaboration launched in 2022 and builds on Ashoka’s belief in the power of the social entrepreneur to activate others’ changemaking potential so they begin to see the world through the lens of possibilities rather than problems.
